Roast Pumpkin & Haloumi Fritters

One for the savoury files, this recipe is soo easy. Minimum effort yeilds delicious results – everything gets thrown into one bowl, mixed and then cooked. These fritters are super versatile too, they are great for lunchboxes (they rock as leftovers!), awesome for brunch, lunch or dinner (try with a big serve of yummy rocket leaves on the side, also super quick) and they are perfect for entertaining, you can even halve the size you cook to teaspoon size for the cutest little canapes! Slow Cooker Vegan Broth

In the cooler months we look for warming meals to nourish and soothe our bodies. This Slow Cooker Vegan Broth is full of easily assimilated nutrients and gentle on the gut to help boost immunity and reduce inflammation. It’s versatile – you can enjoy a cup just as it is on it’s own, make clear based soups, or add it to anywhere a recipe calls for stock. Continue reading

Raw Tamari Zoodles

I’m usually driven with meals with what we have on hand and what is cheap and in season at the time. I think by now everyone knows I’m usually meal planning flying by the seat of my pants making meals for my three beautiful kids. I think you will love this recipe – it takes just a couple of minutes to make, it’s easy, it’s cheap and it’s so fresh, nourishing and detoxifying. Continue reading

Chicken & Veg Pie

One of my first jobs as a teen was working in a bakery in town. I couldn’t handle the meat pies but was quite partial to a chicken and veg pie – with loads of sauce of course! It must be an Aussie thing. Unfortunately (or fortunately for me) I have since found out what my body can tolerate and one of the definite no’s for me is gluten. Also I wanted a whole food, fresh, tasty option without the weirdo shortenings and additives AND I want to sneak in as much veg as humanly possible. Too much to ask for? I didn’t think so, so I created this family favourite beauty for you. Continue reading

Cauli Crust Pizza

Here is a nut free alternative to my Grain Free Pizza which I also love, just sometimes we need a little break from the nuts (everything in moderation and we don’t need to go nuts over nuts!) This pizza is light but it’s oh-so-satisfying. You can pick up a piece just like a regular crust pizza, it’s delicious and you can get really creative with your toppings too. Continue reading

Gluten Free Chicken Nuggets

My 13 year old daughter just said to me, “Mum, these are SO good.”

I’ll take that! These are such a great first step for a really fussy eater and they’re one of the first steps I took to covert my ultra picky eating eldest son to a whole food diet (we’re talking 5-foods-only-level of picky eating). Get rid of the crappy, expensive frozen nugs for these instead – once you’ve nailed these and the kids are loving them then you can move on to the next introduction. I guess these nuggets are like a gateway whole food! Continue reading
